Stars and Stripes Park

American Flag, Stars and Stripes By Joanna Young

A favorite park among longtime Oklahoma City residents, Stars and Stripes Park is the perfect place for a full day of fun with your preschooler. Located just south of Lake Hefner in northwest Oklahoma City, Stars and Stripes park has been an ongoing favorite destination for preschoolers and their families.

What Preschoolers Will Love about Stars and Stripes Park

Swiming on a Swingset at Sunset Your preschooler will scramble out of the car to be the first to reach the “big rocket”! A long upward-tilting structure, the “big rocket” offers preschoolers (and their mommies and daddies!) a challenging climb to the top. Take your shoes off and slide back down the structure in your socks, or finish your climb with the steep plunging slide. Reach the ground and start all over!

Stars and Stripes Park offers preschoolers and their families all-day fun with its expansive playground area, barbecue pits, and large grassy areas perfect for frisbees and footballs! Step across the street to the southern shoreline of Lake Hefner where you and your preschooler can climb the rocks, wade in the sand, and collect pebbles and shells.

Restrooms, water fountains, and free parking make an afternoon at Stars and Stripes park hassle-free and easier for parents. A 7-11 store sits within a few blocks of the park, making a soda or ice run fast and convenient.
