Eldon Lyon Park
Pack a picnic basket, buckle up your preschooler, and head out to Eldon Lyon Park. Sixty acres of free outdoor recreational fun for preschoolers and their families can be found at this big, beautiful park in Bethany, Oklahoma County. Located just east of Lake Overholser, Eldon Lyon Park is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon with your preschooler.
What You’ll Love about Eldon Lyon Park
On either side of Eldon Lyon Park are two large playground areas where preschoolers can play on swings, slides, climbing equipment, bridges, and more! But preschoolers will tell you their favorite thing to do at Eldon Lyon Park is sliding down the “Big Hill”. Its both shallow and steep slopes provide the perfect entertainment for preschoolers. Climbing up and sliding down the big hill on cardboard boxes in the summer and sleds in the winter will quickly become a family favorite.
Gather up your preschoolers and get out on the large grassy fields that make the perfect setting for flying kites or throwing a frisbee. Fresh air and a brisk walk around the 1.5 miles of walking trails at Eldon Lyon also make for great outdoor recreation. Families of preschoolers can also take advantage of the huge soccer field, four basketball goals, picnic tables, party pavilions, and softball fields. And don’t miss the gigantic Independence Day celebration in July and beautiful Christmas lights display in December at Eldon Lyon Park!
